Mar 26, 2013; Toronto, ON, Canada; Toronto Maple Leafs center Nazem Kadri (43) and center Tyler Bozak (42) and left wing Joffrey Lupul (19) look on from the bench against the Florida Panthers at the Air Canada Centre.
When you go on twitter there are so many people to follow it is hard to decide just who is worth hitting that follow button. If you are into hockey the decision is even tougher. Some guys are really boring tweeters, and most don’t tweet very much at all. To help you all out I have made a list of who I think are the most entertaining NHL players to follow. Please note that some of these players tweet things not suitable for children.

1. Paul Bissonnette (@BizNasty2point0)

BizNasty is a must follow for any hockey fan, or just person in general. He plays “left bench” for the Phoenix Coyotes and is by far more famous for his twitter antics off the ice than his actual play. He loves making jokes at his own expense and loves to chirp back at those who chirp him.

2. Dustin Penner (@DustinPenner25)

Penner is just funny. He is always tweeting about the antics him and the rest of the Los Angeles Kings participate in. He is also really engaged with his fans. He often tweets back and has twitter Q and A’s which is something that I really appreciate players doing. A tweet back is something really simple that really makes a person’s day.

3. Logan Couture (@Logancouture), Jason Demers (@jasondemers5), and Brent Burns (@Burnzie88)

The reason these 3 are grouped together is that when they tweet each other it is hilarious. Since they are all on the San Jose Sharks they love to chirp each other which makes for some pretty funny interactions. Each guy is pretty funny on his own too.

4. Tyler Bozak (@Bozie42)

Bozak does some really funny stuff. He is huge video game buff particularly Call of Duty and tweets about it regularly, mostly during the off season. My favourite thing he does is after most Toronto Maple Leafs wins he tweets a single hashtag that usually some of his teammates add to. He has a lot of good back and forth with James van Riemsdyk (@JVReemer21).

5. Scott Hartnell (@Hartsy19)

Last but certainly not least is Scott Hartnell. If you have seen any videos of Hartnell’s off ice antics you know this guy is almost incapable of being serious, which makes him a fantastic follow on twitter. If you are familiar with him at all you know exactly what he is like and exactly what to expect from this account.

While your following people on twitter don’t forget to follow me (@kcapp22) and the site (@TMMotS) or like us on facebook. Also let me know if I’ve forgotten anyone on this list in the comment box below!

So I went on twitter a little while ago and almost had a heart attack when I saw this tweet from Claude Giroux wishing his teammate Scott Hartnell luck in St. Louis:

@hartsy19 good luck in St Louis. You’re a great teammate and friend. Just make sure you keep your head up next year.

— Claude Giroux (@28CGiroux) April 1, 2013

I searched frantically through my tweets and eventually came to the conclusion that it was April 1st and it had to be a joke. The Philadelphia Flyers have always had a comedic air especially Hartnell. Hartnell himself even went in on the joke tweeting this shortly after Giroux tweeted:

Thanks PHL. I love you all!!!!

— Scott Hartnell (@Hartsy19) April 1, 2013

Apparently a lot of people fell for it because a little while later Hartnell tweeted this:

Kidding everyone!!!!Would never leave this town!!!!!!!Go Flyers and as @28cgiroux would say “LETS GO”

— Scott Hartnell (@Hartsy19) April 1, 2013

And Giroux tweeted this:

Okay…..Joke is over.#hartnellstays#SorryNotSorry

— Claude Giroux (@28CGiroux) April 1, 2013

This is why I love the Flyers, they are entertaining on and off the ice. I am a little mad at Giroux for pulling this one over on me, but respect him for getting into the spirit of the day.

The Philadelphia Flyers confirmed Thursday that forward Scott Hartnell will be out anywhere from four to eight weeks thanks to a broken bone in his foot according to ESPN.com. The injury occurred during Tuesday’s loss to the New Jersey Devils when teammate Kimmo Timonen‘s shot hit Hartnell, leading to the first metatarsal to break.

<img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-7058" title="NHL: Pittsburgh Penguins at Philadelphia Flyersanuary 19, 2013; Philadelphia, PA, USA; Philadelphia Flyers right wing Scott Hartnell (19) skates onto the ice during pregame introductions before game against the Pittsburgh Penguins at the Wells Fargo Center.
To help fill that gap the Flyers have tentatively signed veteran forward Mike Knuble to a one-year deal worth $750,000 according to Pierre LeBrun of ESPN.com. The deal will become official once Knuble passes his physical.

The 39-year old, a veteran of sixteen NHL seasons, has played for five different clubs, including the Flyers from 2005-09. His best season came in 2005-06 when he scored 34 goals and added 31 helpers in 82 games.

Last season with the Washington Capitals, Knuble registered 6 goals and 12 assists in 72 games. He also compiled 32 penalty minutes and was a minus-15.

The Flyers picked up their first win of the season on Thursday night, defeating the New York Rangers 2-1 with a shorthanded roster thanks to the Hartnell injury and Brayden Schenn being suspended.
