The Buffalo Sabres might be without their top-scorer Thomas Vanek. He was hit with a puck during last night’s game and sustained a lower body injury. Bill Beacon of the Toronto Star reported that coach Ron Rolston believes the injury will be day-to-day:

“We’ll have to go day-to-day,” said Rolston. “He’s limping around a bit. It will probably be a day-to-day, pain-tolerance thing.”

Evgeni Malkin skated in Pittsburgh Penguins practice on Tuesday according to NHL.com. He’s been out for 6 games with an upper-body injury that is not related to the concussion he sustained last month. Malkin said that he hopes to return to the Penguins line up on Friday.

According to Ted Kulfan of the Detroit News Detroit Red Wings GM Ken Holland said that Patrick Eaves has no fractures in his jaw so he will be out day-to-day.

Damian Cristodero of the Tampa Bay Times reported that the Tampa Bay Lightning will be losing Ryan Malone indefinitely with a shoulder injury. Victor Hedman will also be out, he is day-to-day with an upper-body injury. Both players were injured in Monday’s game.

New York Rangers traded forward Tommy Grant and a conditional seventh-round pick in the 2014 NHL Entry draft to the San Jose Sharks for forward Brandon Mashinter.

The Red Wings have finally done it, they tied the record of 20 consecutive home wins in a single season, set by the Boston Bruins in the 1929-30 season and then duplicated by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 1975-76 season.It’s just so coincidental that the team who holds the top spot for the record played the potential record-breakers to try and stop their reign.
