Disclaimer: This is for entertainment only.

Okay, now that we have that out of the way, lets talk odds. With Round two of the Playoffs started Las Vegas has updated their odds on who is the favorite to win the Stanley Cup. There is no shocker here. Vegas says that The Pittsburgh Penguins are still the favorite followed by the Chicago Blackhawks and the San Jose Sharks. There is no real jump in the odds until you get to the number five bet. The Los Angeles Kings are 20/1 odds. Here’s the list (vegasinsider.com).

Current Odds of winning the Cup.

Pittsburgh Penguins 5/2

Chicago Blackhawks 7/2

San Jose Sharks 7/1

Boston Bruins 12/1

Los Angeles Kings 20/1

Ottawa Senators 20/1

Detroit Red Wings 40/1

New York Rangers 40/1

<img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-8722" title="NHL: Stanley Cup Finals-New Jersey Devils at Los Angeles Kings June 11, 2012; Los Angeles, CA, USA; A general view displaying the wins remaining for the Los Angeles Kings to win the Stanley Cup before game six of the 2012 Stanley Cup Finals against the New Jersey Devils at the Staples Center. According to thespread.com the American betting public is picking the Ranger to win the cup (71%) while second best chances are the Chicago Blackhawks (69%). The way the Playoffs have been going I wouldn’t bet on any team. At this point of the year all it takes is a funny bounce to break someone’s heart. My advice; just sit back and enjoy NHL Playoff hockey. There is no need to spend your money. Wave your flag, wear your colors, and jump up and down for your team. As long as you are enjoying the playoffs the numbers do not matter.

However, for those people who need to see picks, here’s what I think. I do feel that we could be looking at a Penguins vs. Blackhawks final. That is not what I want to see, honestly I think that if that does happen it will be an over hyped series. Out of the the eight teams left I believe that a Sharks vs. Bruins series would be the best for entertainment value. It would be a good mix of the faster skating West vs. the hard hitting East. It is highly unlikely to happen, but a guy can dream. As long as there is hockey being played I’ll be happy.

Whats is your pick for the Stanley Cup Finals match-up? Leave your thoughts on our Facebook page, twitter, or just comment below.

With round one of the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs now behind us, there is very little time to sit back and savor what was a phenomenal opening round of hockey. From thrilling overtimes, to the unbelievable comeback that the Boston Bruins were able to complete in game 7, round one reminded everyone why playoff hockey is the best time of year.

Round two is set to open on Tuesday night and we’ve got your full television schedule, courtesy of NHL.com. Only eight teams remain. Who will make the cut and get into the final four? We’ll find out soon enough in what is promising to be an even better round two of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

As predicted, the Washington Capitals have let the New York Rangers tie up the series at home in game 6 to force a game 7 back in Washington. Both teams have been playing very well. All 6 games this series has come down to a wire, whichcould have gone both ways. As I said before, I think this is going to be a win-at-home series. That means I think Washington takes the Rangers by storm.

The Capitals lead the series with 12 goals for and 11 goals against, which indicates that game 7 is going to be a tight game. Derick Brassard scored the one and only goal in game 6 to put the series into the final game. It put the team more than just up by one. It put them up emotionally. Henrik Lundqvist made this statement after the win.

“It’s just a bounce and you win it, so we know we can do it,” Lundqvist said. “I feel like they always come a little harder in their home building, but we can build on this one.”

King Hank had 27 saves in the 1-0 shutout.

Game 7 should be a very close game. With that being said, it’s very important to not take bad penalties. Penalties such as the Mike Green penalty that Adam Oates didn’t like. Capitals’ coach Adam Oates had made a statement about the cross-checking penalty given to Mike Green in the sixth game.

“It looks like a slew foot to me. Obviously that’s why Mike reacted. Mike is not that type of player. You watch it and to me it looks like a slew foot. I realize Green is one of the guys they want to target. But that’s a very dangerous play.”

The Capitals’ injuries include Brooks Laich, Tom Poti, and Martin Erat, who injured his arm in game 4. The Rangers were without Ryane Clowe, Marc Staal, and Darroll Powe Sunday night, and are all questionable for Monday night. Big Washington players for game 7 are Braden Holtby, Mike Green, Joel Ward, and Troy Brouwer.
