Everyone loves the NHL Playoffs, but they are in need of some NHL rule changes. Yes, the game we love can be made better and the greatest tournament in professional sports needs help. In the first edition of the TMMOTS Round table we will look at NHL rule changes that will make the Playoffs and the game better.

We hear about NHL rule changes ever year, and the NHL has a history of creating rules that are just a joke, and hard to enforce. It would be nice if just once this league took the time to create rules that worked and that their officials would be willing to enforce. Fan often get mad at officials, but a lot of the bad calls are a direct product of a rule book that is lacking common sense.

If the NHL wants to be taken seriously in main stream sports then its time for real NHL rule changes that would not only improve the game, but take this game into the next generation of sports fans. Yes, it may be time to change tradition and start refocusing this game so the “fans” who can’t follow it would be willing to watch more often. The NHL has record profits, but when it come to the random sports fan watching the game the NHL struggles.

A few NHL rules changes could make the game cleaner and more attractive to the common fan, and that could mean big money for the NHL. I’m not in favor of all of these suggested changes, but seeing as how this is a round table everything is fair game. Lets tale a look at what the Staff at TMMOTS came up with.
