Milan Lucic Gets Dropped With One Punch (Video)

If Milan Lucic get punched by Dalton Prout and everyone sees it did it still happen?

Last night there was a fight in a NHL game;  I know shocking right? But this was no normal fight. It came in the final second of overtime between the Bruins and Blue Jackets, and it made Lucic hatters all over the world cheer and smile.

The punch heard around the hockey world was a quick right hand that dropped the 6’3″ 225 pound big man to his knee. Just because it adds to the greatness that is Lucic getting punched and dropped; Prout is in every way an equal when it come to size. The Blue Jackets defenseman stands 6’3″ weighing in at 222 pounds. The only thing that may not make this a great moment is the fact the Lucic may not have been completely engaged in the fight.

It is true that the two big men were pushing and shoving, and yes they did square up and grab on, but only Prout dropped his gloves. At that point Lucic should have let go and skated away if he wasn’t ready to fight. But, even with that being said could this just be a case of the greatest sucker punch in years?

I say no way. You are Milan Lucic hated by many loved by…Well loved by Bruins fans. Here’s the deal it’s a hockey game and you’re a “skilled” tough guy, and yes by skilled I also mean DIRTY.  If you are going to stand face to face with another player and grab on you are in a fight. There is no good reason to look away and not pay attention to the 222 pound monster standing six inches from you.

Just to clarify my point look at the video around the seven second mark Lucic punches first and from there on out I say Prout can fire away. It became punched or gets punched and while fighting is still allowed it expected that Prout defends himself.

True to his dirty cry baby form Lucic go bananas and starts punching back while being held by the linesmen. To make matters worse and add to the greatness that was watched a giant get dropped with one punch is the glove tossing that happened next.

It’s simple really, you got punched and dropped; get over it and skate off with some dignity. I know this come across as I hate Lucic and you know what I think ever NHL fans does unless he is on your team, but this is really not about that. It’s about a hockey player finally getting a taste of his own medicine, and not being able to handle someone standing up to him.
