With Jonas Hiller gone, the time is now for either Frederik Andersen or John Gibson to step up. Both played good last year when Hiller was not starting and gained some valuable playoff experience. Unless one of them wows the coaching staff this training camp, expect them to split time. However, if the Ducks think that Gibson still needs some AHL seasoning, they can easily make Jason LaBarbera, a veteran backup, their second goalie. Igor Bobkov, a prospect with high potential, will also try to impress in camp.
