Goalie Situations Heading Into Camp: Atlantic Division
The goalie position in hockey has become such an important job in the game that many now compare it to the quarterback’s job in football. With any increasing demand for pucks to be stopped, it is very important for NHL teams to not only have a good starter, but also a solid backup because goalies are getting hurt.
There were many goalies that changed teams in the offseason, so let’s take a look at each team’s goalie situation. Today we’ll start with the Atlantic Division:

With Tuukka Rask coming off the best season of his career, all the Bruins need to focus on their backup goalie. Malcolm Subban and Niklas Svedberg will be competing for the spot, with Adam Morrison and Jeremy Smith given long looks. Chad Johnson, last year’s backup, left in the offseason.
