NHL Quick Shifts is a daily series where we gather up the latest NHL news and links from the FanSided NHL blogosphere, as well as other NHL / hockey blogs. So with that, here is today’s edition of Quick Shifts!

  • Sarcastic (But Legitimate) NHL Logo Rankings – The NHL off season means an endless supply of relocation rumors (in the past it was the Phoenix Coyotes who fulfilled that quota) and uniform / logo rankings. Chris Gay of TMMOTS has a different take on the rankings, offering up some sarcastic commentary on all 30 logos. The comments may be witty, but he did take the rankings seriously. It is well worth checking out this morning. [TMMOTS]
  • Greatest Of The Great One – NHL Network is conducting a fan vote to determine a ranking of the greatest on-ice moments for Wayne Gretzky. You can vote on the thirteen possible choices here. [Rink Royalty]
  • Will Brent Burns Transition Smoothly Back To Defense – Brent Burns made the transition to forward look easy a season and a half ago, but now with the overall of the Sharks lineup, Burns is expected to go back to playing defense. With the Sharks blue-line weakened via the exit of Dan Boyle, Burns will help strengthen a defensive core that has been one of the major problems for the San Jose Sharks in recent years.
