  • AHL Expansion to the West – NHL expansion to the west has dominated the headlines lately, but according to NBC, the AHL is also looking to expand west. NHL teams based in the western states want to have their minor league teams located closer to home. The Los Angeles Kings, San Jose Sharks, Colorado Avalanche, Arizona Coyotes Winnipeg Jets, Vancouver Canucks, Edmonton Oilers, and Calgary Flames will all have AHL teams based west. The only team left off the list are the Anaheim Ducks, but there are rumors they are looking to purchase an AHL team and move them to San Diego. [TMMOTS]
  • Cory Schneider is 10th Best Fantasy Goaltender According to NHL.com – NHL.com released their top 275 players for the 2014-15 Fantasy Hockey season, and the New Jersey Devils goaltender, Cory Schneider is ranked 10th overall. Let’s just hope your league doesn’t count the “Shootout Wins” category in the scoring. It should come as no surprise that Sidney Crosby is ranked first overall on the list, which is something the majority of fantasy guides agree with. [Pucks and Pitchforks]
