  • Derek Roy embarrassed by performance, focuses on nutrition and fitness – Sometimes going back to basics is the best way to get out of a slump. Derek Roy was not happy with his performance last season, and has decided to focus on his nutrition and fitness this offseason. He has joined several other NHL players and turned to Gary Roberts‘ intense fitness and nutrition program this offseason. Roy wants to come back for he 2014-15 season in the best shape of his career. • Teenage Eric Lindros destroyed a bunch posters he was supposed to sign for charity – Puck Daddy has relayed a great story from ex-NHL referee Paul Stewart regarding his first (and last) interaction with Eric Lindros. Let’s just say it involves a bratty Lindros and a bunch of posters that were intended for charity. [Puck Daddy]
  • Top 3 NHL teams in need of a uniform change – We are in the midst of one of the best eras for uniforms in NHL history, at least since the Original Six. The majority of teams have updated their uniforms since the switch to the Reebok Edge in 2007. Some teams could still use an update and FanSided took a look at three of them. [FanSided]
  • Mike Babcock will not discuss contract during season – Mike Babcock has informed the Detroit Red Wings he would like all contract negotiations for an extension to be completed by the start of the season. He will not be open to negotiating once the season begins. Babcock wants to stay in Detroit and the request to put negotiations on hold during the season makes sense; coaching the team demands 100% of his attention. It could also be a tactic to get the Red Wings to agree to an extension earlier, rather than allow other teams to make offers next offseason. Babcock would be a sough after coach by many teams if we were ever available. [FanSided]
