Day two of NHL Free Agency is starting to come to an end, and there are still a few good players available to be signed. The remaining players hare an aging group, but they still have value.
As the days go on and the players sit and wait, the list of team needed to fill a need will continue to be shortened. At some point some of these players will be left wondering if they still have NHL ability, or have they simply gotten too old?
Some Remaining Players
- Martin Brodeur
- Chris Butler
- David Legwand
- Daniel Alfredsson
- Radim Vrbata- Just signed with Vancouver
Only of the players on that list are under the age of 30 (Butler 27-years-old), but they all have one thing in common. They want a chance to continue their careers. When players reach this point in their career the term, and money seeming means less. It becomes about finding a team that has a shot at the Stanley Cup. Players like Alfredsson and Brodeur are looking for one last run. While Butler, and Vrbata, and Legwand still have a gas in the tank.
Come tomorrow I expect to hear that at least Vrbata has a home, and Brodeur is in talk with some team. But with all things NHL you knew really know until you read it on twitter.
