Paul Stastny Signs with Blues

The first hour of free-agent frenzy is bringing out a barrage of signings and you can already take the biggest fish off that list. Centerman Paul Stastny signed a four-year $28 million deal with the St. Louis Blues.

Stastny, whose spent his entire career with the Colorado Avalanche, comes to a Blues team that may have just added that key piece down the middle to keep up with the likes of the Los Angeles Kings, San Jose Sharks and Chicago Blackhawks.

He joins his Team USA Olympic teammate T.J. Oshie on a Blues team that blew a 2-0 series lead to the Blackhawks in the first round of this year’s playoffs.

His deal includes a no-trade clause along with a $6.5 million cap hit this upcoming season, followed by $7 million, $7 million and $7.5 million in the final year of the deal.
