James Neal To Nashville as the Predators Reset Begins

James Neal has been traded to the Nashville Predators for Patric Hornqvist and Nick Spaling.  The gut reaction, “Is Pittsburgh going into a rebuild?”  Which after a second you realize is ridiculous.  This is a pick that gives Pittsburgh exactly what they need which is cap room.  Pittsburgh has a problem of too many good players to sign and not enough cap room to sign them all.  This alleviates that problem a little bit.

This trade leaves no doubt that this is the Peter Laviolette Predators now.  For years, fans in “Smashville” have been wondering if exciting hockey is something that exists only on television.  Now, James Neal brings his 27 goals, 34 assists, and 61 points to the Music City.  Add that to the fact that they drafted a projected second-line center with their newly acquired 26-year-old centerpiece and the Predators may be able to score a few goals.
