On Wednesday, I went through what each team in the top 10 picks needs in today’s draft. I will continue the rest of the first round in this post (if no one trades picks).

Picks 11-20

11. Nashville Predators

With a good foundation in defensive, goaltending, and offensive prospects, the Predators may want to draft a big player like Brendan Perlini or Alex Tuch. At least one of them will likely be available at this spot.

Most probable pick: Brendan Perlini

12. Arizona Coyotes

The Coyotes have a couple options here based on who is available. it will be nice if they can go for a big body like Perlini or Tuch, but they also need more skill up front. Kasperi Kapanen, son of Sami, may fall to this spot.

Most probable pick: Kasperi Kapanen

13. Washington Capitals

Washington’s defence is relatively young and besides Evgeny Kuznetsov, the team only has a few top offensive prospects. it will be a good idea to go for the best forward available.

Most probable pick: Jared McCann

14. Dallas Stars

The Stars are in the same situation as the Capitals and need to get the best forward available.

Most probable pick: Alex Tuch

15. Detroit Red Wings

It wouldn’t hurt for the Red Wings to pick another forward to help their rising group of young forwards that includes Tomas Tatar and Gustav Nyquist, but the need some defensive depth.

Most probable pick: Julius Honka

16. Columbus Blue Jackets

Although the Blue Jackets have drafted many forwards the past few seasons, it is time for them to draft a defenseman to balance out the skill level.

Most probable pick: Anthony DeAngelo

17. Philadelphia Flyers

The home team badly needs defense, but in a draft stacked with offence, they will be forced to go with a forward if DeAngelo and Honka are already picked. However, they could go a bit off the board and get Roland McKeown, who does have potential.

Most probable pick: Roland McKeown

18. Minnesota Wild

Could they be the first team to get a goalie? Although they need one, they may opt to get a starter via free agency instead of waiting a couple years for one to develop. Kevin Fiala is a good Swiss forward.

Most probable pick: Kevin Fiala

19. Tampa Bay Lightning

With an aging defense lineup, the Lightning need to rejuvenate it through the draft. They have picked many forwards in the past few drafts.

Most probable pick: Brycen Martin
