Today’s is particularly interesting to Columbus Blue Jackets fans / Rick Nash followers. 13 years ago, the Blue Jackets and Panthers traded picks in order for Columbus to move up to the first pick and select Nash. The Panthers took Jay Bouwmeester third. Bouwmeester stayed with Florida until the 2009-10 season, when his negotiating rights were traded to the Calgary Flames. Bouwmeester played two seasons in Calgary before being traded to the St. Louis Blues. Rick Nash played in Columbus until being traded to the New York Rangers before the 2013 lockout shortened season. - Report: Kings Offer Marian Gaborik Three Year / $15 Million Deal – According to the Toronto Sun the Kings are set to offer forward Marian Gaborik a three year, $15 million deal. The Kings acquired Gaborik at the trade deadline from the Columbus Blue Jackets. Gaborik struggled in Columbus, but played an essential role for the Kings in the post-season. [ FanSided ]
