Before he won a Vezina trophy and backstopped the Columbus Blue Jackets to the 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs, Sergei Bobrovsky was a little tike with some sick dance moves. All credit goes to Adam Heineman ( @adam_33 ) for bringing this one to my attention, and as far as we can tell, the child in the blue shorts with the bowl cut is a young Sergei Bobrovsky.
At the start we get to see a young Sergei Bobrovsky run some type of relay race. The video then cuts to Bobrovsky tending net in his peewee hockey days. Diving dramatically at the puck, we can see a young Vezina winner in the making.
At the 1:15 mark we are back to Bobrovsky at school where he suddenly busts out some killer Russian dance moves. He then sings something in Russian, not quite sure on the translation but I think he may have something to do with Steve Mason going to the Flyers lololololol.
After that there are some more peewee hockey clips.
We’ve seen the clips of Gretzky on the pond and Sidney Crosby before he was a star, but have you ever seen them bust a move in their grade school play?
As you can see in this clip from when he was with the Philadelphia Flyers, Bobrovsky did not give up on showing off his dance moves:
But now with the Columbus Blue Jackets he tends to stick with a big hug from Nick Foligno.
