Watch Drew Doughty Go Head Over Heels In Victory

The entire Los Angeles Kings bench collectively lost their minds when Alec Martinez scored a little over five and a half minutes into the overtime period to clinch the Kings trip to the Stanley Cup Final.

It would seem no one was more excited than Kings defenseman, Drew Doughty. In a Vine video that has now gone viral, we see Doughty jump up and pound the glass like a madman, and then fall comically over the boards when attempting to join the rest of his team mates on the ice.  You can just picture the comical voiceovers that could go along with this clip in your head.

Here is the video for your enjoyment:

I’ve watched it on repeat a few times now and it still hasn’t stopped being funny. This one is just asking to be included in the NHLs “Because It’s The Cup” ad campaign for the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

You truly get to see both emotions evoked here: Doughty losing his mind in excitement and the Blackhawks fans behind him, burying their heads in their hands. Surrounding the joy and celebration of a team moving on to the Stanley Cup Finals are the players and fans mourning the end of the season for the losing team.

Doughty and the Kings will start their series with the New York Rangers at the Staples Center on Wednesday at 8:00 PM. We can all have a laugh right now, but I am sure come Wednesday night the Los Angeles Kings will be back in a serious mindset and ready to compete for the Stanley Cup.
