After just facing off against each other in a thrilling Eastern Conference semifinals, P.K. Subban and Patrice Bergeron are facing off again. This time, however, they are fighting to win hockey fans’ votes to be on the cover of the upcoming video game, NHL 15.
Last year, Martin Brodeur beat Sergei Bobrovsky in NHL 14 to become the first goaltender on the cover of the NHL video game series since John Vanbiesbrouck in NHL 97. Many people believed that Brodeur was the favorite the whole time simply because he deserved it after such an amazing career, but this year’s vote seems to be a little closer.
Despite Subban’s popularity in Canada, Bergeron is putting up a strong showing from Boston fans. Fans can either vote on Twitter or Instagram by hashtagging NHL15 with the player. Subban’s is #NHL15Subban and Bergeron’s is #NHL15Bergeron. You can also go to the NHL 15 website to vote. Voting ends on June 1st, so make sure you vote soon.
Some big names that still have not been on the cover of the worldwide NHL video game series include Evgeni Malkin, Roberto Luongo, Henrik Lundqvist, the Sedins, and Sidney Crosby.
The winner will be announced at the NHL Awards on June 24 and NHL 15 comes out in Fall 2014.
