Last Night’s Results:

Noteable Noteables:

  • The Los Angeles Kings are on the verge of earning their second trip to the Stanley Cup Final in the last three years. Despite facing the task of clinching on the road in Chicago, the Kings have all of the momentum going into Game 5. Since the second period of Game 2, the Kings have outscored the Blackhawks by a score of 15-5. Last year, it was the Chicago Blackhawks eliminating the Kings in Game 5 at the United Center.
  • The Chicago Blackhawks can also look to last year’s post season for some inspiration, as they were down 3-1 against the Detroit Red Wings. Chicago rallied and forced a Game 7 with Detroit and the rest is history. It is never a good sign when you have to look back on playoff history to find a bright spot for a team, however, if any team is going to rally from a 3-1 deficit, it’s the Chicago Blackhawks.
  • Los Angeles’ success can be attributed to their playoff leading offense. They have the highest goal scorer in Marian Gaborik (10), and Anze Kopitar leads the playoffs in assists (17). Four of the top scorers in the post-season are on the Kings roster (Gaborik, Kopitar, Carter, Williams). [NHL.com]
