Boston Bruins @ Montreal Canadiens 7:30 PM NBCSN [Series: BOS 3-2]

Los Angeles Kings @ Anaheim Ducks 10:00 PM NBCSN [Series: Tied 2-2]

Last Night’s Results:

Pittsburgh Penguins 1 New York Rangers 3 [Recap]  [Series: Tied 3-3]

Minnesota Wild 1 Chicago Blackhawks 2 [Recap] [Series: CHI 3-2]

Noteable Noteables:

  • The Boston Bruins can advance to the Eastern Conference Finals for the second time in two seasons, but as the first team to win two in a row in the second round of this year’s playoffs, they understand that it will take a lot to avoid a Game 7 with Montreal. In the first four games of the series, the Bruins held a lead for only 11:39 minutes of play. A fast start and an early lead was the key to winning Game 5. Montreal will have to bounce back from the squandered opportunity to head back to the Bell Centre with a chance to eliminate the Bruins and focus on forcing a Game 7 back in Boston. [NHL.com]
  • The Anaheim Ducks and the Los Angeles Kings enter tonight’s came with their series tied two apiece. Neither team has won at home in the series. John Gibson made his first NHL post-season start for the Ducks in Game 4, and despite the Kings dominating puck possession and shots on goal, Gibson was able to shut the Kings out. The quality of the shots was the Kings undoing, as Gibson was not challenged often in what should have been a difficult start. The Kings are expected to get another crack at Gibson tonight.
