Last Night’s Results:

Minnesota Wild 1 Chicago Blackhawks 4 [ Series: CHI 2-0 ]

New York Rangers 0 Pittsburgh Penguins 3 [ Series: Tied 1-1 ]

Noteable Noteables:

  • The schedule makers cruel treatment of the New York Rangers continues tonight, as their series with the Pittsburgh Penguins moves to Madison Square Garden a mere 24 hours after Game 2. The Rangers have had little time to rest since their Game 7 showdown with the Philadelphia Flyers. Marc-Andre Fleury had no problem handling the New York Rangers offense last night, earning his seventh post-season shutout of this career, a team record. Fatigue may be setting in early for New York, who had no shots on goal in the final 11:38 of the game.
  • Marian Gaborik turned playoff hero the Los Angeles Kings in Game 1 against the Anaheim Ducks. The forward acquired from the Columbus Blue Jackets at the Trade Deadline score the tying goal in the third period, as well as the overtime game winner. The Ducks played a good game, but simply could not capitalize on several scoring chances throughout the game. Anaheim learned the hard way that if you give the best scoring team in the playoffs a chance to win, they will take it. The Kings could be down two of their top defensemen in Game 2. Willie Mitchell missed game one, and his status is currently uncertain. Robyn Regehr is also listed as questionable with an undisclosed injury. [NHL.com]
