Stanley Cup Playoffs Channel Surfing: May 4th Edition

Channel Surfing is Too Many Men On The Site’s quick guide to tonight’s Stanley Cup Playoffs action, as well as any other interesting broadcasts in the world of hockey. Included is a list of the scheduled games, game notes, as well as a pregame warm up song.

Minnesota Wild @ Chicago Blackhawks 3:00 PM NBC [ Series: CHI 1-0 ]

New York Rangers @ Pittsburgh Penguins 7:30 PM NBCSN [ Series: NYR 1-0 ]

Last Night’s Results:

Montreal Canadiens 3 Boston Bruins 5 [ Series: Tied 1-1 ]

Los Angeles Kings 3 Anaheim Ducks 2 (OT) [ Series: LA 1-0 ]

Noteable Noteables:

  • The Minnesota Wild are not hitting the panic button after losing 5-2 in Game 1 of their series with the Chicago Blackhawks. Head Coach Mike Yeo believed that the Wild fell behind because they were not paying attention to the little details that allowed them to upset the Colorado Avalanche in Round 1. The Wild held a practice yesterday and shuffled up the third and fourth lines. The Chicago Blackhawks had the day off. []
  • For the first time in the 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Pittsburgh Penguins find themselves behind in a series. They have never lost to the New York Rangers in the post-season, but with a win tonight the Rangers can take a commanding 2-0 lead in the series with it returning to Madison Square Garden. Fatigue may set in for the Rangers, who are facing five games in seven days, but it’s almost as if a “runners high” has set in for the team and they show no sign of slowing down. The post-season blues continued for Sidney Crosby, who was on the ice for all three of the Rangers goals in Game 1. []
