Noteable Noteables:

  • Steve Mason will be back in net for the Philadelphia Flyers tonight for Game 4 against the New York Rangers. Mason has been out with an upper body injury since April 12th. It marks Mason’s first playoff start since 2009 with the Columbus Blue Jackets. Daniel Carcillo was a healthy scratch for the New York Rangers for the first two games of the series, but his play in Game 3 has likely earned him the chance to play again tonight. Carcillo scored a goal, earned two hits and two penalties. [NHL.com]
  • The Chicago Blackhawks / St. Louis Blues series returns to St. Louis tonight knotted up at two games apiece. Weighing on Chicago’s mind is the fact they are winless in five games at the Scottrade Center this year. St. Louis outplayed Chicago in Game 3, but ended up being shut out 2-0. They couldn’t hold a 3-2 lead in the third in Game 4 and ended up losing in overtime. While Chicago has yet to lead in the series, both games were a missed opportunity for the Blues to jump ahead. • The Anaheim Ducks have not indicated whether Ryan Getzlaf will be available tonight when their series with the Dallas Stars returns to Anaheim. The Stars were able to even the series up 2-2 in Dallas. The Ducks have had success at home, going 31 for 43 this season. Another question mark for the Ducks is who will be between the pipes, as Frederik Andersen was pulled in the third period of Game 4. Jonas Hiller hadn’t been in net since April 6th, but he was able to stop the lone shot he faced. [NHL.com]
