Noteable Noteables:

  • Everything has been downhill for the Detroit Red Wings since Pavel Datsyuk’s lone game winning goal in Game 1. On that night it appeared that we were in for a close series between the two teams, but since then Boston has outscored the Red Wings 7-1. Detroit will need to turn things around tonight to avoid a 3-1 series deficit. Boston has been generating offense and have prevented the Red Wings from gaining any ground on the man advantage (Boston is a perfect 9 for 9 on the kill). Tuuka Rask has been one of the best goaltenders in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Detroit will have their work cut out for them, as it appears Boston is doing everything in their power to avoid a long series. [NHL.com]
  • Minnesota’s 1-0 victory over the Colorado Avalanche in Game 3 has given them new life and tonight they will try to even up the series. The Wild will be without forward Matt Cooke, who was suspended seven games last night for his knee on knee hit on Tyson Barrie. Instead of thinking about retribution, the Avalanche have been working on their power play, which has gone 1-11 in the first three games. [NHL.com]
  • Tonight the San Jose Sharks will be going for the sweep of the Los Angeles Kings. Before this series started, nearly everyone expected this one to go the distance. The total domination of the Kings by San Jose has been one of the most surprising stories of the first round. San Jose has outscored the Kings 17-8 through the first three games. Los Angeles showed improvement in Game 3, and even forced overtime, so they do have something to build off of tonight. [NHL.com]
