Noteable Noteables:

  • Fatigue could play a factor in today’s Chicago Blackhawks and St. Louis Blues game due their 3 OT thriller from two nights ago. Both teams got injured players back in their lineup, so proper rest between games is critical to make it through what is looking to be a physically demanding series. Either team could have won Game 1, as the Blackhawks were close several times, and the Blues settled in after their shaky start. Look for more of the same from both Chicago and St. Louis today. • The Columbus Blue Jackets will have R.J. Umberger back in the lineup tonight and Nick Foligno will be a coach’s decision. Both players can add some valuable depth and experience to this young Columbus team. Foligno and Umberger combined for 73 points during the regular season, and were fifth and sixth on the Blue Jackets roster for points respectively.
  • Pittsburgh’s Kris Letang will be looking to bounce back from an awful performance in Game 1. Head Coach Dan Bylsma resorted to playing Letang less during the third period due to his sloppy play and costly turnovers. [ NHL.com ]
  • The Minnesota Wild will attempt to even up the series after allowing Game 1 to slip away during the third period. Both of Colorado’s goals in the third came as a result of the Minnesota Wild being unable to clear the defensive zone.  [ NHL.com ]
