  • Both the Philadelphia Flyers and the Tampa Bay Lightning have qualified for the playoffs. Now both teams are attempting to climb as high as possible in the standings in order to improve their playoff match ups. Philadelphia currently holds the third playoff spot in the Metropolitan Division with 91 points, but they are tied with the Columbus Blue Jackets. Philadelphia must continue to win, or risk dropping into a Wild Card spot.
  • The St. Louis Blues enter tonight’s game two points ahead of the Colorado Avalanche in the Central Division and are in a race with the Anaheim Ducks and the San Jose Sharks for the top slot in the Western Conference. The race to the playoffs does not end with qualification.
  • The Phoenix Coyotes playoff hopes remain alive and they will attempt to gain some much needed ground on the Dallas Stars in their match up with the Nashville Predators tonight.
