Noteable Noteables:

  • Boston is winless in the last two games, and the Flyers have been shut out in their last two. In addition, Philadelphia has gone 1-3-2 since their five game winning streak ended. While their playoff hopes are likely not in danger, if the Flyers slip into a Wild Card spot, they could very well be paired up with the Boston Bruins, a team who is going for the three game sweep today. Teams say they aren’t looking at the match ups, but that one would not be favorable to Philly. [ NHL.com ]
  • The Washington Capitals face a must win game with the New York Islanders today. They are currently four points off the Columbus Blue Jackets with very few chances led tot catch up. Despite losing key players like John Tavares and Kyle Okposo, the Islanders are playing some of their best hockey of late, going 5-0-1 in their most recent stretch. [ NHL.com ]
  • All the New York Rangers need is one point today and they will have clinched a spot in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
  • The Toronto Maple Leafs were on life support last week, but now a two game winning streak and a little help from the Chicago Blackhawks last night in Columbus, and they are back in the fight. They will have to continue to win without Jonathan Bernier, who is out with a strained MCL. [ NHL.com ]

Best Dressed:

Today the best dressed will go to the Detroit Red Wings and the Montreal Canadiens. Have to love the Original 6 match up.
