NHL Channel Surfing: April 2nd Edition

Channel Surfing is Too Many Men On The Site’s quick guide to tonight’s NHL action, as well as any other interesting broadcasts in the world of hockey. Included is a list of the scheduled games, game notes, as well as a pregame warm up song.

New York Islanders @ Ottawa Senators 7:00 PM

Boston Bruins @ Detroit Red Wings 8:00 PM

Edmonton Oilers @ Anaheim Ducks 10:00 PM

Phoenix Coyotes @ Los Angeles Kings 10:30 PM

Noteable Noteables:

  • The Detroit Red Wings have regained a solid grip on the top Wild Card spot with a pair of wins this past weekend. Prior to that, Detroit found themselves in a bit of a slump and had the Washington Capitals nipping at their heels. Technically the Maple Leafs are within close range as well, but they find themselves in that position due to a freefall. The Red Wings have won two of the previous three match ups with the Boston Bruins. [ NHL.com ]
  • The Anaheim Ducks have already qualified for a playoff spot, but they have winning the Pacific Division and home ice on their mind. They need to keep earning points because the San Jose Sharks trail them by one point in the standings.
  • The Phoenix Coyotes find themselves in a deadlock with the Dallas Stars in the Wild Card race. Phoenix enters tonight tied with the Stars with 85 points. Dallas holds the tiebreakers, so the Coyotes are currently on the outside looking in.

Best Dressed:

Tonight the best dressed goes to the Boston Bruins and Detroit Red Wings.
