Channel Surfing is Too Many Men On The Site’s quick guide to tonight’s NHL action, as well as any other interesting broadcasts in the world of hockey. Included is a list of the scheduled games, game notes, as well as a pregame warm up song.

Carolina Hurricanes @ Ottawa Senators 7:30 PM

Florida Panthers @ New Jersey Devils 7:30 PM

Winnipeg Jets @ Anaheim Ducks 10:00 PM

Minnesota Wild @ Los Angeles Kings 10:00 PM

Noteable Noteables:

  • The Carolina Hurricanes and the Ottawa Senators are technically both still in contention for a playoff spot in the East, however Ottawa is six points behind the Columbus Blue Jackets and Carolina is eight points out. So the chances are slim to none for both teams, but they will continue to play their hardest as long they are not mathematically eliminated. [ NHL.com ]
  • Much like Carolina and Ottawa, the New Jersey Devils are mathematically alive, but will need to run the table and also get some help from other teams if they hope to capture the last Wild Card spot in the East. The Devils are currently five points out with eight games remaining. [ NHL.com ]
  • The Anaheim Ducks claimed the first spot in the Pacific Division back from the San Jose Sharks with their win over the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday. The win was their 48th of the season, which matches the single season franchise record set back in 2006-07. [ NHL.com ]
  • While the team is technically the relocated Atlanta Thrashers, this will be the last time Teemu Selanne faces the Winnipeg Jets.
  • The Los Angeles Kings have hit their stride and will look to extend their winning streak to seven games when they welcome the Minnesota Wild to the Staples Center tonight. [ NHL.com ]
