Noteable Noteables:

  • With their win over the Chicago Blackhawks, the Boston Bruins became the first team in the Eastern Conference to win 50 games. They also clinched the Atlantic Division title with the win. [ NHL.com ]
  • If the Colorado Avalanche get at least one point tonight, they will clinch a playoff birth. Colorado has been somewhat of a surprise rebound this season after last years disappointing effort. The Avalanche are out to prove that the 2013 season was just a minor bump in the road. The San Jose Sharks remain in a battle for the Pacific Division title with the Anaheim Ducks. Every game is a must win for them at this point. [ NHL.com ]
  • Toronto’s losing streak continued last night with a loss to the Philadelphia Flyers. They get another chance tonight against the Detroit Red Wings, who are in a bit of a slump of their own. Both teams are clinging to the playoff bubble and desperate for a win.
  • Tonight is a big showdown for the top wild card spot in the Western Conference between the Minnesota Wild and the Phoenix Coyotes. With a regulation win, the Coyotes can jump ahead of the Wild, who currently hold the spot with 85 points (one more than Phoenix). [ NHL.com ]

Best Dressed:

Tonight the best dressed will go to the Phoenix Coyotes and the Minnesota Wild. Honorable mention to the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Detroit Red Wings.
