The Montreal Canadiens and the Boston Bruins, two original six teams who have been battling it out since the beginning! Now, an individual  battle has also emerged. Alexei Emelin and Milan Lucic apparently don’t like each other, and why would they.

Emelin threw a hip check last night on Lucic, which you can see below, and then after the game Lucic called him out, saying he was ‘chicken’ for his hit – so it’s safe to say that their relationship will not get any better in the near future.

As you can see, Bruins captain Zdeno Chara wasn’t a big fan of the hit either – he was sent to the box for roughing once the scuffle ended. Milan Lucic, as mentioned above, had some words for Emelin after the game…

“Whether it’s fair or legal or whatever you want to call it, if he wasn’t scared, he’d want to stand up and hit me and not go after my knees,” Lucic said. “It just shows how big of a chicken he is that he has to go down like that to take me down. It shows what kind of player he is. On my end, you know you need to keep your guard up at all times.”

The Canadiens went on to win the game 2-1 in a shootout. Unfortunately these two teams will not meet again in the regular season, lucky for us though, they both are on their way to making the playoffs. If they meet each other at any point in time in the playoffs, buckle up, it will be a wild ride!

This game was crap… The officiating was so 1 sided. Playing the puck with a broken stick, no penalty, goalie comes out of the crease and blind sides sodeberg outside of the crease, goalie interference on Carl, high stick to bergy, no call, boarding of camble and paille and boychuk and marchand, all without calls and i am sure i am missing some of those, target on pallies head, no call, did the bruins get away with a few yes, but there is a difference between a few and 90% of the penalties you commit not getting called. This game was worse than the games against Pittsburgh and Chicago in the playoffs last year, and I didnt think officiatting could get any worse than it was in those 2 series.

the only way emilin could hit lucic in the knees with a hip check, lucic would have to be the size of chara

It was a good clean hit.
