Noteable Noteables:

  • Ottawa comes into tonight’s game with the Nashville Predators in desperation mode. They are separated from the 8th place Columbus Blue Jackets back 3 teams and 4 points. The Predators have lost four straight games and are pretty much out of the playoff race. [ NHL.com ]
  • Tampa Bay remains winless since the trade of Martin St. Louis, but the streak started shortly before the captain made his way to New York.
  • 67 points puts Ottawa just out of the playoff picture in the East, whereas the Winnipeg Jets (also with 67 points) find themselves 5 points out of a playoff spot  in the West. Winnipeg has a tough hill to climb.
  • Vancouver is 2-10-1 over the past 13 games and desperately trying to right the ship after a tumultuous trade deadline.
  • If he believes he is ready, top-prospect Evgeny Kuznetsov could make his debut for the Capitals tonight against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Kuznetsov skated with the team over the weekend, and will skate again Monday morning to evaluate whether he is ready to play. [ NHL.com ]

Best Dressed:

Tonight the best dressed goes to the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Dallas Stars. I love the Jackets away uniform and Dallas is one of the best re-brands in a long time. The red white and blue of the Blue Jackets will contrast great with the green silver and black of Dallas.

Easily one of the best Against Me! songs of all time and a staple of my St. Patrick’s Day playlist.
