Noteable Noteables:

  • Both the Winnipeg Jets and the Ottawa Senators are just outside the playoff bubble after recent stumbles since the Olympic break. Both teams lost their last two games, and Ottawa has lost four of their last five. [ NHL.com ]
  • Colorado is 7-3-0 in their last 10 games and are trying to make a run at the top of the Central Division; the only problem is Chicago and St. Louis are in their way. The race for the top of the NHL is heating up with both Anaheim and St. Louis in a close run for the President’s trophy.
  • New Jersey’s Tuomo Ruutu and Carolina’s Andrei Loktionov will be facing their respective former teams as the Hurricanes and Devils meet for the first time since Wednesday’s trade deadline.
  • The Philadelphia Flyers and Toronto Maple Leafs will play each other twice in March. Before this month, the last time the two teams played was all the way back on October 2nd, where Toronto won 3-1. It will be interesting to see how the two teams have evolved since that first meeting early in the season.
  • Steven Stamkos returned to the lineup against the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday, now he faces the Boston Bruins; the last time Tamps Bay played Boston was the game Stamkos broke his leg.

Best Dressed:

Today I will give the honors to the Toronto Maple Leafs and Philadelphia Flyers. It’s a classic and colorful match up between two teams with some very nice uniforms.
