NHL Channel Surfing: Welcome Home

Channel Surfing is Too Many Men On The Site’s quick guide to tonight’s NHL action, as well as any other interesting broadcasts in the world of hockey. Included is a list of the scheduled games, game notes, as well as a pregame warm up song.

Detroit Red Wings @ Montreal Canadiens 7:30 PM [ Preview ]

Boston Bruins @ Buffalo Sabres 7:30 PM [ Preview ]

Los Angeles Kings @ Colorado Avalanche 10:00 PM [ Preview ]

St. Louis Blues @ Vancouver Canucks 10:30 PM [ Preview ]

Noteable Noteables:

  • The NHL returned to action last night with the Buffalo Sabres taking on the Carolina Hurricanes in a makeup game that got snowed out before the Olympic Break. The schedule gets back into full swing tonight with four games on the lineup.
  • Detroit returns from the Olympic break in a Eastern Conference dogfight. They hold the second wild card spot by one point. Nearly every game down the stretch will be a must win.
  • Carey Price is expected to get a little more rest after a Gold Medal run at Sochi. Peter Budaj will be in net tonight to keep Price fresh for the run to the playoffs. [ NHL.com ]
  • Los Angeles will try to get things started off on the right foot tonight, after going into the Olympic break with two wins in their final ten games. The Western conference is jam packed, so the Kings are always in danger of falling out of the race.
  • The Vancouver Canucks have a chance to sweep their three game season series with the  St. Louis Blues with a win tonight. [ NHL.com ]

Best Dressed:

The Original Six match up between the Detroit Red Wings and the Montreal Canadiens gets the best dressed honors tonight. It’s a classic match up and both teams have flawless uniforms.

TMMOTS Pregame Warm Up Song:

Radical Face – “Welcome Home”

This one has been getting a ton of play on my phone since I first heard it in the finale HBO 24/7. With tonight being the official first night back for the NHL since the Olympic break, I thought this would be perfect time for Welcome Home.
