United States men's hockey in the aftermath of yesterday's loss to Canada.

Olympics Channel Surfing: Going For The Bronze

Channel Surfing is Too Many Men On The Site’s quick guide to tonight’s NHL action, as well as any other interesting broadcasts in the world of hockey. Included is a list of the scheduled games, game notes, as well as a pregame warm up song.

Olympics – Men’s Hockey Bronze Medal Match

United States vs Finland 10:00 AM

Noteable Noteables:

  • Contrast this with the Women’s Bronze medal match between Switzerland and Sweden, where both teams were just happy to be in a medal match. In the case of today’s match up, both the United States and Finland had Gold medal aspirations, only to see them evaporate in the semi-finals. While today’s game does not mean as much as the Gold Medal would have, both teams will be trying their hardest to get on the Olympic podium.
  • Both teams lost in defensive battles and were unable to generate offense in the semi-finals. It will be interesting to see how they adjust and generate more offense in the Bronze Medal match.
  • Today will be Teemu Selanne‘s final Olympic game for Team Finland, just another final stop as his historic career reaches its conclusion.
  • The Gold Medal match between Sweden and Canada will take place tomorrow at 7:00 AM.

TMMOTS Pregame Warm Up Song:

Joey Cape – Going For The Bronze

Well it is disappointing that the United States fell one game short of the Gold Medal. On the bright side (and there aren’t many bright sides out of that outcome) we get to use a great song from one of my personal favorites, Joey Cape, for the Pregame Warm Up.
