Noteable Noteables:

  • The Men’s Olympic Hockey tournament bracket has been set. Sweden, Canada, Finland and the United States all earned first round byes. The remaining eight teams will square off in win or go home games. FanSided has put together a bracket to track the rest of the Men’s tournament:

  • A lot more was expected from Team Russia going into the 2014 Sochi games. The fact that they are not one of the four teams with a first round bye has to be disappointing for Russian supporters. However, out of all the eight teams in the Qualification Round, Russia has to be the favorite to have a chance against the remaining four teams. Russia will meet up with Norway in an elimination game at 7:30 AM today.
  •  For those following the Women’s tournament, today is nothing more than a day to decide the final placings of the bottom teams. On Thursday Switzerland will get things kicked off with the Bronze medal match. The United States and Canada will have another gold medal showdown at noon.

Best Dressed:

Today’s best dressed will go to the Czech Republic vs Slovakia. I like both of these jerseys, even if Slovakia’s look a lot like the United States’ jerseys. Check back to TMMOTS later for my complete rankings of all of the Olympic Hockey jerseys.

TMMOTS Pregame Warm Up Song:

Millencolin – “Fingers Crossed”

I thought I would go a little international with today’s warm up song. Millencolin is a great punk band from Sweden (they sing in english), the Home From Home album kind of reminds me of Goldfinger from around the same time period.
