Olympics Channel Surfing: Both Ends Of The Spectrum

Channel Surfing is Too Many Men On The Site’s quick guide to tonight’s NHL action, as well as any other interesting broadcasts in the world of hockey. Included is a list of the scheduled games, game notes, as well as a pregame warm up song.

Olympics – Women’s Hockey Classifications

Finland vs Germany 3:00 AM

Russia vs Japan 12:00 PM

Olympics – Men’s Hockey

Austria vs Norway 3:00 AM

Russia vs Slovakia 7:30 AM

Slovenia vs United States 7:30 AM

Finland vs Canada 12:00 PM

Noteable Noteables:

  • Canada and Finland are both playing to be the top of Group B in the Men’s Hockey tournament. Both teams are guaranteed a spot in the Quarterfinals, however, the winner of each Group earns a bye. The extra day to refresh the body and regroup as a team can make a huge difference down the road in the quest for Olympic gold.
  • On the other end of the spectrum is Austria and Norway. Neither team has earned a win so far at Sochi, so both a playing for pride at this point. One of the winless streaks will be broken early this morning.
  • After their marathon game that went to a thrilling shoot out, both the United States and Russia are back in action bright and early today. The United States will take on Slovenia and the Russians, Slovakia. We will see if fatigue plays a factor in either match up.

Best Dressed:

Today’s best dressed will go to Austria and Norway. I like the simplicity of the Norway jerseys, as well as the crest of the Austria jerseys.

TMMOTS Pregame Warm Up Song:

Bruce Springsteen – “No Surrender”

Hopefully the Boss can bring Team USA a little luck today!
