Noteable Noteables:

  • After taking a day off, the Olympic Women’s tournament moves into its Quarterfinal round. The majority of Russian hockey fans will be tuning into the men’s team taking on the United States, but at the same time the Women’s team will be looking to continue their quest for a medal at the 2014 Sochi games with their game against Switzerland.
  • We will have to wait no later than 7:30 AM to see today’s marquee match up: Russia vs United States. The two super powers of hockey will meet for the first time at the 2014 Sochi games. The US is coming off a 7-1 demolishing of what was expected to be a pretty good Slovakia team. The United States will be looking to continue their success, while the Russian team will be trying to make a statement against one of their oldest rivals. The 1980 Miracle game was mentioned by both American and Russian media in the lead up to the games.
  • Both Slovenia and Slovakia will be looking to bounce back from disappointing performances in their first games
  •  All four teams playing in the 12 PM games are playing their second of back to back games. Sweden and the Czech Republic are coming off wins.

Best Dressed:

United States vs Russia, hands down. I love the “Captain America” vibe of the Team USA jerseys, and the Russians have one of the best sets in the games.
