The Toronto Maple Leafs have traded rugged blueliner Mark Fraser to the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for two prospects. With the stellar play of Tim Gleason, Fraser has found himself without a regular spot in the Leafs lineup. The deal frees up $1.25 million on the Leaf’s salary cap which means this could be a precursor for more to come.
The Oilers add a stable bottom pair defender that could help add some depth to a lackluster blue line.
Oilers acquire Mark Fraser from Leafs for Cam Abner and Hartikainen.
