QUICK SHIFTS: Maple Leafs Woes; Lightning; and Home Ice Advantage

With a full slate of games last night, the playoff picture in the Easter Conference became even more muddied with losses from both Toronto and Detroit, the teams that held the two playoff wildcard spots going into the night. Wins by Washington, New Jersey, Carolina and Florida means only three points separates 6th from 11th place.


The slide the Maple Leafs are on has cause significant consternation in Toronto, this was made even worse by another blowout loss to the Carolina Hurricanes last night. []

Despite falling 4-3 to the Washington Capitals last night the Tampa Bay Lighting have far exceeded expectations so far this season even after the devastating injury to their star player []
