Quick Shifts: Don Cherry, Patrik Elias, Puck Personalities

Last week the Rogers deal made quite a splash in the hockey broadcasting world, but I think the thought on most of Canadian minds was what about Coach’s Corner? What will happen to Don Cherry? According to this article from the Hamilton Spectator the CBC still has broadcast rights for Hockey Night in Canada for the next 4 years but with this new deal Rogers will have editorial control. On Saturday’s Coach’s Corner Don made a case for his job and my feelings are he shouldn’t have to. Grapes is a Canadian staple and it would be wrong for him to leave Hockey Night in Canada for any reason unless it is his own decision to do so.

On NHL.com there is an interview with Patrik Elias. He talks about everything from being a New Jersey Devil to the Stadium Series to the Olympics. If your an Elias fan I would definitely take a look.
