Yzerman said Stamkos’ surgery went well. Expected to make 100% recovery. No timeframe, though.

There is no development as far as a timetable for Stamkos’s return to the line up but it shouldn’t take too long as Stamkos is only 22 years old. Stamko’s potential Team Canada team mate Matt Duchene said that he suffered from a similar injury when he was 12.
Avs’ Matt Duchene, in talking about Stamkos injury, noted he also broke tibia playing hockey when he was 12. Said spent 3 months in cast.

3 months in a cast would mean that it would be mid January before Stamkos started skating. This is good news for the Olympics as it would give him another month to become healthy enough to play. Again we hope Stamkos has a speedy recovery and wish him all the best.
