Dallas Stars Trade Rumors: Vernon Fiddler Asks for Trade

The latest Dallas Stars trade rumors come as a report from Bob MacKenzie who has revealed that forward Vernon Fiddler has asked to be traded. Apparently he went to the team two weeks ago and said he was unhappy with his role on the team. He knows he will not get more ice time with the Stars so he is asking for a trade.

Fiddler’s contract will expire at the end of the season making him an unrestricted free agent. The Stars are not going to be hasty with a deal for Fiddler. They will wait as long as it takes for a deal to happen that will benefit them.

Darren Dreger reported that one of the teams that could be interested is the Toronto Maple Leafs who have been looking for a center. The Leafs have had interest in Fiddler in the past but his age could be a cause for concern. Another factor in the Leafs making a play for Fiddler will be the recovery of Tyler Bozak. Bozak has started skating today but there is still no time line on his return to the line up.
