Semyon Varlamov Arrested [UPDATED x2]

Semyon Varlamov of the Colorado Avalanche has turned himself into police for domestic violence charges for an incident that took place on October 29. The Avalanche have issued the following statement:

“The Colorado Avalanche organization is aware of the allegations concerning Semyon Varlamov. At this time, and until the conclusion of this investigation, the Avalanche organization will have no further comment on this situation.”

Police have said that Varlamov will spend the night in a Denver County Jail. He is being held without bond and the exact charges are 2nd degree kidnapping and 3rd degree assault. The Police have also said that Varlamov’s case is now in the hands of the district attorney.

Varlamov has been stellar as a goalie this year for the Avs. He has a 7-1 record a save percentage of .945 and a goals against average of 1.76. He was scheduled to be starting goalie Friday when the Avalanche take on the Dallas Stars.
