Alex Ovechkin Misses Practice With Upper Body Injury, Listed As Day To Day

Alex Ovechkin has started the season just how he dreamed it up over the summer, but the Washington Capitals are a different story. Ovechkin is second in the NHL with goals, but the Caps have struggled early on this season. They can always turn their season around, it’s still early, and as long as Ovi is in the line up they have a chance to do anything.

About that.

Ovechkin sustained an upper body injury, and the Washington Capitals have listed him as day to day. How the injury was sustained is unknown, but either way, Ovechkin missed practice today.

The Capitals don’t play until Friday night when they visit the Philadelphia Flyers. Will Ovechkin be able to go again by then? Who knows, day to day is always such an open ended answer to questions we’re all asking. When?

The Capitals need Ovi on the ice, he knows that, Adam Oates knows that, everyone knows that, so it’s hard to think that Ovechkin won’t be on the ice if it isn’t too serious. The Capitals need to turn their ship around, and doing it without their best player? The Caps haven’t looked very good even when he is in the line up this season, can’t imagine without him.
