Matt Moulson Shines in Debut

The Buffalo Sabres may have lost their game tonight but not because of Matt Moulson. In his debut with his new team Moulson scored two goals and was named first star of the game. Buffalo came very close to making a come back thanks to Matt and Thomas Vanek has a lot to live up to tomorrow night if the New York Islanders will win the trade.

Moulson’s first goal came only 3 minutes into his Sabres career. If you missed it here it is:

His second came at 17:17 in the second period. No doubt he will be the player every reporter wants to talk to tonight and we will have quotes for you right here tomorrow. The only way a Sabres fan could be happier is if they won.

So far it seems like a good trade for Buffalo but we will just wait and see what happens with Vanek and the Islanders tomorrow night.

I was impressed and I think he brings a more positive attitude with him – I saw more talking amongst the players tonight and even being down 3 – 1, they did come back and make it close. Liked the effort and it is a positive performance they can build on.

Exactly sometimes it’s not just about talent. Sometimes it’s about the energy a guy brings to the room.

Remember Boyes? Good start then faded! Same thing, maybe? We shall see.
