“It’s never good to lose one of your top players, a guy that eats up a ton of minutes, who is a danger every time he goes out on the ice,” NHL.com

The 21-year-old has played in 9 games this year for the Oilers. He has 8 points, and is a -6. For his career Hall has put on the Oilers crest 180 times, and has 153 points. He was drafted 1st overall in 2010. Hall recently broke one of Wayne Gretzky‘s rerecords; he scored two goals in eight seconds; Gretzky did it in nine.

With Hall in the press box; look for Nail Yakupov to step up, and be given some ice time. Yakupov has been running on the rumor mill lately, this may be his chance to showcase his talent.

“It’s time for other people to grasp opportunity,” Eakins said. “There are guys who are going to get some extra ice who have told me ‘I can do this, I can do that.’ All right, let’s see. The time is now for them to grab that opportunity.” NHL.com

Look for the Oilers to be part of a lot of trade talks.
