It was a scary moment for the Winnipeg Jets during their game against the St.Louis Blues last night when 19 year old rookie Jacob Trouba was taken off the ice on a stretcher after crashing head first into the boards in an attempt to hit Jordan Leopold. Trouba was alert and was able to wave to the crowd when leaving on the stretcher. He went to hospital for X-rays. He was released from the hospital a few hours later.

Early this morning Jacob tweeted this:

It is clear he has managed to keep his sense of humour in tact through the injury but that’s easy to do when your team rallies behind you and pulls out a win. The extent of his injury is not known but the team seems optimistic going forward. For more news on the Jacob Trouba injury and others follow us on twitter or like us on facebook.
