James Reimer, The Maple Leafs Starting Goalie

It’s official. Randy Carlyle has made the tough decision and James Reimer will be the Toronto Maple Leafs starting goalie tonight for their home opener against the Ottawa Senators.

I think this is a smart move. The fans will see the goalie they know and love in action. Also Reimer won all 3 games he played against the Ottawa Senators last season. Jonathan Bernier has not seen the likes of the Senators for at least 2 seasons so the odds were in Reimer’s favor.

I believe the only chink in Reimer’s armor tonight will be the likes of Clarke MacArthur. MacArthur and Reimer were team mates which means Mac knows his weaknesses. Most Leaf fans didn’t think much of Clarke before but when he was on a line with talented players his true talent came out. I believe that Mac is a sleeper, he stays out of the spotlight but he really does have talent.

What do you think? Did Carlyle make the right decision? Tell us your thoughts! Leave a comment in the box below, on facebook or on twitter!
