Daily Poll: New Jersey Devils Opening Night Goalie

Yesterday Rich Chere of the Star-Ledger reported that New Jersey Devils coach Peter DeBoer has chosen Martin Brodeur to be his starting goalie on the Devils opening night on October 3rd against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Bob Mckenzie said there would be a pretty even split between Brodeur and Cory Schneider this season but DeBoer’s opening night decision makes us slightly question this.

Also we wonder if DeBoer made the right decision. Should he have gone with the younger goalie instead of the more established one? Is this the year Brodeur will lose some of his luster (he is on the cover of NHL 14)? What do you think? Vote in the poll and tell us why you picked what you picked in the comment box below, on facebook, or on twitter!

If you were coach of the Devils, who would be your opening night goalie?

*Side Note: How weird is it to see Schneider in the Devils uniform? I keep forgetting he go traded because it just blew my mind. I never thought he would be in anything other than Vancouver Canucks colours. I guess it just goes to show you anything can happen.
